4 weeks old! My first, maiden batch of vertical hydroponics with the Yashponics system is 4 weeks old! Since seeding. Really happy to be a "father" to so many little greens! 😁 If compared to the lifespan of lettuces, they usually mature at 45 to 60 days. So if at 45 days is like reaching adulthood at 21 years old, then at 28 days is like about 16 or 17 years old! And they are still growing happily! In a day or two, the Grand Rapids would be too tall, so much so that the LEDs would have hit max height! Just some late night musing! 😂 COS/ROMAINE: It is notable that while the romaine is approaching 9" or about 26cm tall, the leaves are more open compared to those in the market, where the leaves are closed up and in more tight-knit bunch. Wonder why is that? Could it be temperature or simply due to the method? The stems at this stage is also noticeably slimmer and more tender.
